EASTERN MEDITATION UNITES WITH WESTERN THOUGHT
ON THE CD JOURNEY TO SPIRITUAL AWAKENING
Many Americans have used the power of prayer, and some have tried meditation, but few have experienced an integrated approach called intentional
meditation, which engages both the conscious and unconscious minds to promote the healing of the mind, body and spirit, according to Vicky Thompson, producer of the meditation CD Journey to Spiritual Awakening: Meditations to Awaken the Divine Heart Within.
Nearly 85 percent of Americans pray weekly, but only 47 percent remain silent during prayer time to listen for God’s response, according to Barna
Research Group, a California-based Christian marketing research company. Intentional meditation incorporates the Western method of prayer to know and communicate with God on a
conscious level, and Eastern traditions of silent meditation to feel the presence of God on an unconscious level.
“Since Sept. 11, many people have gone through a crisis of faith about God’s presence in our world,” says Thompson, who is also the author of
the forthcoming book The Jesus Path (Red Wheel/Weiser, March 2003). “Many of us have turned to prayer, but we often don’t listen for
guidance from God. Miracles are God’s answers to our prayers. Half of us aren’t looking for the miracles in our lives. Intentional meditation inspires faith in the unseen
workings of God by allowing us to openly connect with the divine and accept the daily miracles of life.”
Set to the classical piano music of Debussy and Ravel, three guided intentional meditations align listeners’ intention and will with God, providing
a powerful path for a spiritual journey. “Divine Awakening” gently clears the chakras and releases daily stress. In “Divine Purpose,” listeners discover their divine
purpose through communion with God. “Divine Guidance” helps listeners tap into their inner wisdom by connecting with angelic guides. The active rhythms of the piano and guided
intentional prayers engage the conscious mind, allowing the unconscious mind a moment to connect with and feel God. After the guided portion of each intentional meditation is
complete, the music continues, allowing listeners a time of silent communion with God for guidance and inspiration. As they incorporate this guidance into daily life, listeners
will begin to see positive changes in their relationships, health, finances, career and spirituality.
Journey to Spiritual Awakening can be purchased on the Internet for $15 plus shipping and handling at

movie about the most significant event in the life of Jesus: the transition from the cross to the divine realm. Visitors also can listen to a special online meditation, read
affirmations and excerpts from the forthcoming book The Jesus Path, and subscribe to a free
monthly e-newsletter.
Vicky Thompson, an author and frequent speaker at Body, Mind, Spirit Expos, has directly experienced the power of healing through intentional
meditation. Turning inward to heal issues of childhood sexual abuse, Thompson prayed through meditation for God to help release this pain. Through silent moments of communion with
God, she began receiving intentional meditations for letting go of old patterns and behaviors in her life. Her life’s work is focused on helping people open a powerful connection
with God for guidance, hope and inspiration through the use of divinely-inspired personal growth tools.
